What is SOC?

What is “Signs” of Christmas?

  • A group of like-minded volunteers who come together to practice hard for 6-8 weeks and learn a fantastic show in ASL to share 2 weekends in December.
  • 2009 is going to be a great year! We have many old favorites sprinkled with exciting new songs that audiences everywhere will love.

Do I need to already know sign language?

  • We invite everyone, signers and non-signers alike, to join us.
  • You bring a willing heart, busy hands, and exciting spirit.
  • SOC teaches you everything you need to know.

When and Where are practices?

  • The First rehearsal is October 17th
  • We meet every Saturday morning through November 26th
  • The Westerville Church of the Nazarene - 355 Cherrington Road - Westerville, OH 43081

When are the performances in December?

  • You get to choose which weekend fits into your schedule.
  • Performances are Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.
  • Performance dates this year are December 4, 5, 6 OR December 12, 13, 14.
  • Members must attend ALL performances on their chosen weekend so please make arrangements now to clear your weekend plans.

What about children?

  • Children are welcome to participant when they are mature enough to pay attention and stand for a 45 - 50 minute show this is usually between age 6 and 9, but you know your child’s capabilities.
  • Please do not bring children who are not in the group, we do not have facilities for childcare and they are a distraction for others trying to learn.

How do I become Part of “Signs” of Christmas?

What fees are involved?

  • Registration fees are $12.00 for Adults and $8.00 for children up to age 15.
  • New members will also need to purchase an official SOC T-shirt for $28 (adult) or $20 (youth).
  • We also ask for help supporting WARM by donating canned and boxed goods.
  • Gloss is e-mailed after your registration is confirmed.
  • November 21st is MANDATORY dress rehearsal.

Is there a dress code?

  • Yes, SOC has a uniform!
  • The official SOC T-shirt for $28 (adult) or $20 (youth).
  • Black pants or long black skirt with opaque black hoses.
  • Black or Christmas socks
  • Black shoes
  • Plenty of deodorant and no perfumes/colognes
